Announcing-- Payson's very own Musical Theater Club at The HeART Collective! Theater Education Like Nowhere Else!

Updated: Dec 3, 2024

You might not know it, but Payson, UT is a wildly supportive theater arts community full of truly talented performers. It follows that this wonderful little town is a fantastic place to find excellent learning opportunities for your young performers interested in acting, singing, and dancing or (even better) trying all three together as they explore the craft of musical theater!

So how are you supposed to know what the BEST option is for your student?

Here are a few reasons why Spotlight Musical Theater Club at the HeART Collective is the BEST musical training experience available to your young performer!

  1. We have daytime homeschool classes and after school classes! We know that we're all looking for that perfect schedule that will accomodate our young performers in their learning and growing. If you have homeschool students we are the only program in the area providing acting, singing, and dancing during the day! If you have a more traditional schooling schedule we offer our after-school club so you can make sure to work your musical theater muscles and keep the passion alive.

  2. Triple Threat Training! Members of the club enjoy specialized training in acting, singing, and dancing! This is a promise to provide your students with foundational learning that will empower them to have confidence in our program and out in the real world as they apply their skills.

  3. Original Training Musicals Where ALL Students are Trained As Leads! We believe strongly that training experience should be different from shows prepared specifically for an audience. This is why we use special training musicals created with educational equality as their number one goal! Our shows (rented from License Training Musicals) allow all students to gain experience as a lead because:

    1. All roles have the same number of lines

    2. All roles have the same number of singing solos

    3. All roles have the same amount of dance opportunities

    4. All roles are integral to the plot

    5. All roles have unique character arcs

With these shows, we can make sure that YOUR students are truly learning how to be leads, not just honorary participants with a made-up line in a song or conversation.

  4. Students will be in TWO shows each semester! You heard that right! Because our training musicals are shorter in length and feature only one song a piece we will be able to cast all students in two shows each semester with showcase performances in March and May. That means MORE opportunity to learn how to develop character, more opportunity to practice memorization, and more exposure to the variety of musicals in song and dance and story.

  5. We want to build true character rather than simply studying how to be a character! We believe that theater is about so much more than getting on a stage. It's about becoming people of confidence who know how to lead on stage and off by standing for our values and being an example to the world.

The Musical Theater Club @ The HeART Collective in Payson is truly a one-of-a-kind place supported by a community of talent and opportunity. Come and see what we're all about and give your young performers the chance of a lifetime to learn and grow inside and out!
